Metro Health Village

Image of Metro Health Village

It began with a bold idea that gave birth to several more. The result has changed the way health care is delivered in West Michigan and brought a one-of-a-kind development to Wyoming . The new Metro Health Hospital opened to rave reviews in September of 2007 and is now the focal point of the growing Metro Health Village that surrounds it. The 170-acre development is conveniently located at Byron Center Avenue and Gezon Parkway , just north of M-6.

The 208-bed Metro Health Hospital is on the leading edge of patient care and literally built to heal. It has curved corridors, spaces bathed in natural light, healing gardens, a "green roof" of living plants, and many other features designed to improve safety and create a more therapeutic environment. Patient rooms are all private with new technology to keep patients and visitors comfortable and connected.

A strong focus on storm water management, recycling and energy conservation will earn Metro Health Hospital LEED certification, making it one of only a handful of hospitals in the nation to receive the designation, which recognizes Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. Even more impressive...all 40 buildings planned for Metro Health Village will be LEED certified, an extremely unique feature that demonstrates a long-lasting commitment to protect the planet and the Wyoming environment.

Metro Health Village is now home to medical offices, health related businesses, Sarah Care Adult Day Services, the Hyatt Place Hotel, The Cancer Center at Metro Health Village and Frog Hollow, the City of Wyoming 's fully accessible playground. The Spartan Stores YMCA, which will be a wonderful addition to the Wyoming community, plans to break ground later this year.

Metro Health prides itself on delivering a better health care experience along with unsurpassed quality. The hospital has been rated a Top 100 Hospital in America for three years in a row and continues to receive state and national recognition for its high quality care. The new hospital facility has meant changes for the better for Wyoming and all of West Michigan, while the heart of Metro Health remains the same…compassionate employees delivering care that is truly "All About You. All Around You."
